Matthew Vaughn enlists Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, and Sam Jackson for new spy movie
Pay Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn another martini because he stays in the spy action genre for his next feature film.
Vaughn is set to write and direct a new film about a successful spy novelist who turns out to be a world-class spy suffering from amnesia, according to sources at Observer. When her past comes back to haunt her, so does her memory in this global spy thriller. Vaughn’s MARV Films is behind the project and the filmmaker will also serve as a producer.
Bryce Dallas Howard is in talks to star. Tricked into thinking she’s a writer, her deadly skills return with her memories, setting her on a path of revenge against the obscure organization she worked for, The Division. Sam Rockwell, a former Division agent and lover of our heroine, is also in talks with the star, and Samuel L. Jackson, a rogue agent dedicated to exposing corruption within the underground spy ring.
Jackson to team up with Vaughn after playing in 2014 Kingsman: The Secret Service. We continue to hear rumors of other big names potentially surrounding the project as well as Vaughn looking to assemble a star cast.
Vaughn’s Kingsman The franchise, a counterweight to James Bond, shot sleek R-rated spy action to nearly $ 815 million worldwide across two films. A third entry, the prequel to WWI The king’s man, arrives in December after numerous pandemic delays. The filmmaker is also credited with helping revive the X Men franchise with 2011 First class, which introduced younger versions of popular characters such as Charles Xavier and Magneto.
