Melania Trump’s Office Says Books About Her Life Are “Gossip” | Washington Examiner
Melania Trump’s team released a rare statement on Friday criticizing a flurry of books claiming to have inside information about the former first lady, her family and the administration of former President Donald Trump.
“How can people believe one of the books about Mrs. Trump’s life? Stories about him are just gossip, many of which are misleading, and only some are the truth. Writers have no credibility. Books are fiction and readers should be careful what they choose to believe, ”Melania Trump’s office said in a tweet.
The message did not address any specific book or complaint.
But in a recent report, focusing on extracts from the Wall Street newspaper journalist Michael Bender’s book, Frankly We Won This Election: The Inside Story Of Trump’s Loss, Trump has repeatedly rejected requests to organize an election night at the White House.
Another claim in the book says that the former president used his woman’s phone to avoid the ears of curious helpers.
Donald Trump has repeatedly denigrated published books that focus on him and his tenure in the White House, even those with whom he has apparently had interviews.
“It seems to me that meeting the authors of the ridiculous number of books written about my highly successful administration, or about me, is a complete waste of time,” the former president said in a recent statement released by his Save America PAC.
“They write whatever they want anyway without sources, without fact-checking or without asking if an event is true or false. Frankly, so many stories are made up or pure fiction,” added Donald Trump. “These writers are often bad people who write down whatever comes to their mind or fits their agenda. It has nothing to do with facts or reality. So when you read the garbage that publishes fake media, remember this and take it all with a ‘grain of salt.’ “
