Shadowhunters and The Stranger stars team up for new thriller
Netflix’s Ella-Rae Smith The foreigner and Matthew Daddario from Shadow Hunters team up to star in a new thriller titled In the depths, Deadline reported.
The film is currently filming in Cornwall and follows a young woman named Jess, played by Smith, who meets a stranger promising to take her away from the small coastal town she lives in. The couple vacation on their yacht, but soon mistrust and violence follow, making Smith’s character fearful of the person she is with.
Kate Cox will make her directorial debut while David Beton, who wrote Banishment, will write the scenario.

Jessica Alexander, star of Feast, will also appear in the new thriller from Signature Films and Tea Shop Productions.
Daddario’s character doesn’t have a name yet, while Alexander has been listed as playing Lexie. Nikkita Chadha (Great, Bridgerton, and Cinderella) will play Emi, Andrew Steele (The Royals and Outlandr) will play Mark, Jack Morris (The law project, EastEnders and Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society) will play Tom and Michael Workeye (Great age) will play Mike.
Smith played Daisy in the Netflix adaptation of Harlan Coben’s novel in 2015 The foreigner, as well as appear in Click, In the badlands and The witcher.

Daddario is the best known for his role of Alec Lightwood in the TV series Freeform Shadow Hunters, which is based on the novels by Cassandra Clare Mortal instruments. He appeared in romcom Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List and Why do women kill, and is also the brother of Baywatch actress Alexandra Daddario.
Alexander played Betsey in Feast and appeared as Olivia in the television series Get still, and will also feature in the live-action version of The little Mermaid, scheduled for release in 2023.
